Education

I attend the Bergen County Academies (BCA), a selective public magnet school. In 2015, it was ranked the 5th best school in the nation by Newsweek.
BCA is actually divided into seven academies; I am enrolled in the Academy for the Advancement
of Science and Technology).
From the very beginning, I decided to make the most of what this institution had to offer.
While I strive to maintain a good level of grades, I don't distribute my time to optimize my grades
alone. Rather, I see High School as a platform to gain experience in a variety of very different areas;
to talk to interesting people of all backgrounds and profession, and, ultimately, to learn about
myself.
In accordance with this philosophy, I am enrolled in two separate research programs. I go to a Philosophy Club meeting every Tuesday morning and a Junior Statesmen of America (JSA), a student-run political activism and public speaking club, meeting every Wednesday afternoon. I have worked in two different internships, one at the Bergen County Debate club, where I taught children between the third and seventh grade public speaking, and one at an online education Start-up company called Readorium, where I wrote and published two scientific articles for children as well as performed extensive market research. Between freshmen and junior year, I have competed in a Future Business Leaders of America competition, a Physics Olympiad, an Environmental Hackathon, and two science fairs. I have also worked closely with business teachers to write a business plan for a mock company (see ProVid Productions), and am currently working with a friend and fellow student on a product which we hope to place on Kickstarter by this summer.
By participating and gaining experience in such diverse fields, I believe my education so far has given me much more than a textbook could ever offer. I have gained insight into real potential career paths and have met people who are so weird that I feel at home at the Academies myself.
